OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

At Antonia Claire Photography, the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of children is my highest priority. I am committed to providing a photography experience that is safe, respectful, and aligned with best-practice child safety standards within early childhood education and care settings.

I operate in accordance with the National Model Code for Taking Images or Videos of Children (developed by ACECQA) and the Statement of Regulatory Expectations – National Model Code (SRE–NMC) as applied within Victorian early learning environments. This ensures that all photography services are ethical, transparent, and compliant with current regulatory expectations.

1. PROFESSIONAL DEVICES ONLY

All photography is carried out using dedicated professional equipment owned and operated by Antonia Claire Photography.

Personal mobile phones, tablets, or personal devices are never used for photography or image storage during sessions.

2. CONSENT & FAMILY TRANSPARENCY

Clear and informed consent is required before any child is photographed.

Consent is collected through the booking and registration process

Separate permission is required for any promotional or marketing use

Consent can be withdrawn by families at any time

No images are taken or shared without recorded consent

3. SUPERVISED & AUTHORISED PHOTOGRAPHY

All photography sessions are:

Pre-approved and scheduled with centre leadership

Conducted with educator awareness and supervision

Limited to approved and appropriate areas of the service

I comply fully with visitor sign-in/out procedures and each centre’s individual child safety policies.

4. SECURE IMAGE HANDLING & PRIVACY

Images are handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and child-safe data protection standards.

Each family receives a private, password-protected online gallery

Images are stored only for the required viewing and purchasing period

Files are permanently deleted within 60 days of gallery closure

5. CHILD-SAFE CONTENT GUIDELINES

I will never photograph:

Children in states of undress, toileting, or vulnerable situations

Children who are visibly distressed or unwilling

Any scenario that may compromise a child’s privacy, dignity, or safety

Sessions are always child-led, respectful, and age-appropriate.

6. TRAINING, STANDARDS & ACCOUNTABILITY

As a sole trader, I take full responsibility for compliance and accountability.

I maintain up-to-date knowledge and training in:

Child Safe Standards (including Standards 9 & 11)

Ethical photography practices

Digital privacy and secure data handling

Policies and procedures are reviewed regularly to ensure continued alignment with regulatory expectations.

7. COLLABORATION WITH CENTRES & FAMILIES

I work closely with early learning services and families to:

Support centre compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF)

Respect each service’s policies on child safety and device use

Ensure families feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout the process

8. CONTINUOUS REVIEW

Child safety and compliance practices are reviewed annually, or sooner if legislation or ACECQA guidance changes, to ensure ongoing alignment with current standards.

Only professional photography equipment is used

All images are stored and handled securely

Consent is clearly obtained and documented

Child Safe Standards are upheld at all times

All photography practices align with the National Model Code and SRE–NMC
